1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include browser local storage. This policy covers both. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
estonicist.eu is a lightweight informational website. We deliberately keep tracking to a minimum. By default we use only strictly necessary storage. Any optional analytics are switched on only after you click “Accept all” in the cookie banner, in line with the Estonian Electronic Communications Act and the ePrivacy Directive.
3. Storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
estonicist_cookie_consent | Local storage (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies so the banner is not shown again. | Until cleared by you | Strictly necessary |
| Server access logs | Server side | Security and operation of the hosting infrastructure (IP address, time, requested page). | Max. 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| Google Fonts / jsDelivr CDN requests | Third-party resource | Loading the Inter typeface and icon font. These providers receive your IP address as part of the request; they do not set cookies for this. | Session | Strictly necessary (functional) |
| Analytics (not currently active) | Cookie (first/third party) | Reserved for privacy-friendly, aggregated visitor statistics. Only loaded if you choose “Accept all”. If we add such a tool we will list it here before activating it. | — | Optional |
4. Managing your preferences
You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the footer, which re-opens the banner. You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings; the Website will continue to work without optional cookies.
5. Changes
If we add or remove cookies, we will update this page and, where consent is required, ask for it again via the banner.
