Our commitment
Estonicist OÜ audits online shops for accessibility, so we hold our own website to the same standard. We are committed to making estonicist.eu accessible in accordance with the Accessibility of Products and Services Act (LPS), the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549, with WCAG 2.1 level AA as the technical benchmark.
Conformance status
This website is designed to be fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Fully conformant” means the content meets all applicable success criteria without exceptions. We review this statement after every significant change to the site.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure, with a “Skip to content” link.
- All functionality — navigation, FAQ accordion, cookie banner, forms — operable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
- Colour contrast of text and interactive elements at or above 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Form fields with programmatically associated labels, required-field indication and status messages announced via
aria-live. - Layout that reflows at 320 px width and 400 % zoom without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
- Animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - Decorative visuals (illustrative report cards, orbits) are hidden from assistive technology; informative content is available as text.
Known limitations
- The site is currently published in English only. Estonian and Latvian/Lithuanian versions are planned.
- Third-party embedded resources (icon and web fonts) are loaded from external CDNs; the site remains readable if they fail to load.

Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 13 October 2026 based on a self-assessment using manual keyboard and screen-reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver), browser zoom testing and automated checks (axe-core, Lighthouse) — the same method we apply in our client audits.
